Despite huge popularity and commercial success, Jack Vettriano isn’t taken seriously by the establishment, maybe this is a new approach to garner that all important critical credibility, without having to produce a new painting. I can see the sense in it- it’s like ‘Banksy-ing’ your own paintings. I look forward to the next one,, a romantic couple dining on a windy beach next to a Mastiff.
Either that or it’s to resolve all those home decor arguments-
HER: I want a nice romantic beach scene with people dancing…
HIM: I want an attack helicopter!
